Real-time polymerase chain reaction, real-time PCR or qPCR for quantitative applications, is used to monitor the amplification of targeted DNA during PCR. In our facility, we use real-time PCR for TaqMan assays and telomere length determination.
TaqMan
We offer over 20 million predesigned TaqMan assays, each optimised to target specific gene sequences. In our facility, we use a predesigned TaqMan assay for gender determination. If your sequence of interest is not covered by a predesigned assay, a custom TaqMan assay can be designed to meet your needs.
Telomere length determination
Telomeres are repetitive DNA sequences at the end of chromosomes that protect genetic material from degradation. Over time, telomeres gradually shorten, a natural process associated with aging. Telomere length serves as an indicator of biological age and can be measured using PCR-based methods. We offer PCR-based services for telomere length measurement.
